The STW-60A Automatic Shingled String Cell Terminal Head Welding Machine is a high-precision automated equipment designed specifically for welding ribbon busbars onto both the positive and negative terminals of solar module cell strings. Developed and manufactured by Ooitech, this machine delivers reliable, consistent welding quality for shingled solar panel production lines.

The complete system integrates multiple functional modules including a transfer unit, dual-side (A-side and B-side) fiber optic sensor detection and mechanical positioning units, dual ribbon processing units, dual infrared welding systems, a temperature control system, an unloading mechanical arm, and a finished product collection box. This fully automated workflow eliminates manual intervention and ensures high-throughput, low-breakage production.

How It Works

The working principle is straightforward and efficient. The solar cell string is first transferred onto the conveyor belt and moved to the A-side positioning unit, where fiber optic sensors and mechanical fixtures precisely position the string. The A-side ribbon handling unit then places the busbar ribbon onto the positive lead of the cell string and secures it in position. The infrared light welding system completes the welding on the positive terminal. Next, the transfer unit moves the cell string to the B-side, where identical positioning, ribbon placement, and infrared welding operations are performed on the negative terminal. Once both terminals are welded, the unloading mechanical arm picks up the completed cell string and places it into the finished product box.

The STW-60A features reserved expansion ports for seamless docking with upstream and downstream equipment, including tabber stringers, string inspection systems, and layup machines. This makes it an ideal component in a fully integrated solar panel production line.
